Gracie Barra Manotick ("we", "us") runs a Brazilian jiu jitsu and Muay Thai academy at 5700 Longshadow St, Manotick, Ontario K4M 1M2. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This page explains what we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• When you book a free trial or send us a message: your name, email address, phone number, the program you are interested in, your preferred class time and anything you write in the message box. If you book for a child, we ask for the details we need to place them in the right class.
• When you browse the site: standard technical details such as your browser, device, pages viewed and roughly where you are visiting from, collected through cookies and similar tools (see below).

We do not ask for payment details on this website.

How we use it

• To book your trial class, confirm it and remind you about it.
• To answer your questions and follow up about our programs.
• To understand how people use the site so we can make it easier to use.
• To keep our forms free of spam and abuse.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who helps us

We use a small number of service providers to run the academy and this website. They only get the information they need to do their job:

• Spark Membership, our class booking and member management system, receives your booking and contact details.
• Google Workspace handles our email, including booking confirmations.
• Hostinger hosts this website.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form was sent by a person, not a bot.
• Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity show us how the site is used. Clarity can record anonymised page interactions, such as clicks and scrolling, so we can find parts of the site that are confusing. It does not record what you type into our forms.

Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them for analytics and spam protection. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though booking may need the spam check to run.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and contact details for as long as you are in touch with us or training at the academy, and for a reasonable time afterward for our records. Analytics data is kept according to each provider's retention settings.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have us delete it, and you can tell us at any time to stop contacting you. Email info@manotickgraciebarra.com or call 343-698-3155 and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
